Purple Diesel

Strains

Purple Diesel is a Sativa-dominant hybrid strain consisting of 60% Sativa. It was bred by Cali Connections by crossing Pre-98 Bubba Kush and Sour Diesel, though there is another version from Bodhi seeds. The latter version is a cross between SR71 Purple Kush and Sour Diesel. Purple Diesel has a low THC content of about 16-19% and a CBD level of less than 1%.

Purple Diesel was named after its appearance. Its buds feature a distinctive purple color, amber pistils, and relatively large nuggets with olive-green hues. Purple Diesel is a moderately resinous strain with moderate trichomes that hint at its THC content. The plant grows with one central stem and many side branches.

Purple Diesel can be grown indoors or outdoors. The Screen of Green is the recommended method for indoor growers, who can expect a yield of about 14 ounces per square meter and a shorter flowering time of fewer than 8 weeks. The flowering period outdoors is about 8 weeks and produces a higher yield of about 25-35 ounces per plant.

As the name suggests, Purple Diesel has a pungent smell of fuel. You can also sense berry and grape undertones. And depending on the variant you are smoking, you can also catch sweet, floral lavender. Diesel is the dominant taste. If you are not familiar with it, Purple Diesel may not be the best for you. It also has a smooth and sweet berry flavor, which only intensifies on the exhale.

Purple Diesel is a slow creeper. The high begins to set in after about 30-40 minutes. You can easily overdose if you are not used to it because you won’t immediately feel it. However, when it finally does, you get the best of both Sativa and Indica. You will suddenly feel a giggly euphoric bliss that settles into a smooth mental and physical relaxation. Users have reported a boost in energy, making Purple Kush a daytime flower. However, you should be prepared with your snacks because munchies are inevitable.

Medical users can rely on Purple Diesel to treat bipolar disorder, chronic pain, depression, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, etc.
