Acapulco Gold Strain Review

Acapulco Gold marijuana is distinguishable by its orange hares that resemble a gold nugget. If properly cured, it gives an assortment of orange and brown pistils. A thick layer of resin and occasional yellow streaks also add to its beauty by giving out a luxurious shine. It is a beautiful flower.

The name does not do Acapulco Gold justice because it offers more than its name portrays. In fact, it is one of the most expensive marijuana flowers on the planet. It grows well outside in tropical regions. Cultivators have reported the ease of cultivation of the new generation of Acapulco Gold seeds. It takes about 60-70 days to flower and produces a high yield of 500 grams per square meter indoors. If cultivated outdoors in the northern hemisphere, Acapulco Gold can give up to 1.5 kg per plant.

The aroma of Acapulco Gold is as inviting as its appearance. It has a sweet flavor, often comparable to a rich caramel, dark coffee, and honey. Other stoners with an acute sense of taste have also reported hazelnuts, pine, and ginger to be in the mix. Its rich aroma and flavor are due to the alpha-pinene and beta-caryophyllene terpenes found in this strain.

Acapulco Gold combines a powerful head high with a soothing body high that lasts a few hours. As the acute effects subside, you will feel enhanced cerebral activity and uplifted moods. It has a cheerful effect that makes it the best treat for social gatherings. Acapulco Gold scores high as a morning treat that prepares you for the task ahead of you.

This marijuana strain is best for relieving depression, chronic pain, nausea, stress, arthritis, fatigue, PTSD, and other medical conditions.

  1. The original Acapulco Gold (1970s) was pure gold in color, the stems, pistol and everything was gold in color. Also it had a unique flavor that is not present in the modern version. I tried both and the new Acapulco gold works great, but is different than the original.

    1. I haven’t tried the original for a veryyyyyyyyyyyy long time, but I had a chance to enjoy it a few times.

My memory is that it had streaks of goldish color on the brown/greenish leaves. Back then you did NOT just get buds, you got the whole plant chopped up, with most of the stalk, but not all, taken out. It was not all gold. It was very rare in W Coast Cali way back in the hippy day.

Haven’t tried this, just trying to find real seeds, so I did a two star. Does not mean a thing.

      1. It was all Gold in Michigan, no stalks at all, not chopped up at all, beautiful golden bud, nothing else, and it tasted like Hash from Heaven.

  2. Buds were dried and cured much differently back in the day. Most weed was brown but the ACG had nice golden hues and superior high.

  4. There was buds and fine grain. The only question was what shade of gold it was and or would be. It had a heavenly Hash flavor that was of the most enjoyment. One could call its smell as Perfumey or terpy. No. It’s not the same as the award winner by Barney Farms of today. Theirs is good but not the same like Skunk is not the same.
