Strains

Tangerine Dream is an evenly-balanced hybrid strain (50% Sativa and 50% Indica) developed by Barney’s Farm. It is a resultant cross of G13, Afghani, and Neville’s Haze. This hybrid strain has a whopping 25% THC level on average, warning about its potency and against overdosing. Tangerine Dream won the Cannabis Cup in 2012, which made it one of the popular strains of our time.

Tangerine Dream grows large and chunky flowers and possesses a denser plant structure, more Indica than Sativa. It is characterized by forest green leaves that may appear purple in other phenotypes when exposed to excess cold conditions. The flowers are covered with a thick coat of resinous white trichomes, indicating how potent the Tangerine Dream is. The buds are colorfully decorated with orange pistils.

Tangerine Dream performs well both indoors and outdoors. Indoor growers can provide all the required conditions for the plant, which grows to about 3-4 feet tall. The short and bushy plant has thick stems that can support its weight at flowering without the need for staking. It takes about 8 weeks to start flowering and is ready for harvesting in late October. Tangerine Dream produces about 2 ounces per square foot and should be properly cured and stored in airtight containers.

This strain lives up to its expectations when it comes to its aroma and flavor. It emits an intense citrusy scent with a mix of earthy fragrances when appropriately cured. Breaking the bud open will reveal a more herbal funk, while smoking reveals a chemical-like, diesel taste. The taste turns into an orange zest on exhale, and a slight tanginess remains in your palate for some time.

Tangerine Dream has an immediate headrush, which is often associated with sensory amplifications. You will feel uplifted, energized, and sedated at the same time. However, overdosing can lead to heavier effects, with some feeling more relaxed and sometimes couch-locked.

Due to its effects, Tangerine Dream is preferred for relieving muscle pain, stress, anxiety, mood disorders, insomnia, appetite loss, etc.
